Laser Cutting for a Happy New Year

When designing this year’s New Years card I started by looking at Japanese prints of snowy landscapes. The blankets of snow in Hokusai's prints remind me of the comforting weight of silence in a snowstorm. I wanted to create an image that conveyed an unimaginable surprise while also being playful because I think we could all use a few more sparks of hope and play right now.
