Step 1:
Consultation

Kick off your project by filling out my contact form, and I’ll be in touch to set up a free 30-minute consultation where we’ll talk about the scope of your project, your studio practice, materials, and next steps.

The more specific you can be with what you’re looking for the better guidance I can offer, including solutions or techniques you may not have even known were possible.

Step 2:
Prototyping

Depending on the scope of your project this step may include

  • Laser cut material samples

  • Design or project development

  • Creating laser cutting files

  • Collaborating with your designer on how to translate your vision into a laser cut creation

Whatever shape your project takes, the goal is the same: to work out all the kinks and refine your design so you’ll feel confident we’ve captured your vision before moving into production.

Step 3:
Production

It’s production time! This is the stage where I apply my artistic background and attention to detail to ensure you’re happy with the items you’ve been excitedly waiting for.

Instead of rushing to get the job done, I create efficient workflows to optimize production time without sacrificing quality. But don’t worry, I work with you in advance to set and to meet your deadline, so the completed project reaches you when you need it—and more importantly, how you envisioned it.

I don’t know where to start. Can you help? Will you walk me through the process? Yes! Part of my job is to be the bridge between your idea and the technology. I will guide you through the process of how to turn an image into a laser cutting file or do it for you. I’ll share guidance in material selection, and understanding where designing for laser cutting differs from designing for print or the web.

I believe strongly in the power of understanding processes and bringing people along, so that they feel empowered through learning and excited to take action. I’ll be here every step of the way.

Can you laser cut the specific material my project needs? Yes! Since all the work I do is custom, as long as it is laser-safe, I can cut the specific type of paper, leather, wood, fabric, and other materials that you want to work with. For acrylic, I only work with cast acrylic and will advise on suppliers. I can also advise on suppliers for other materials and what materials produce optimal laser cutting results.

What is your turnaround time? Turn around times vary based on schedule availability and scope of project. Small, simple projects can often be completed in 2-4 weeks. Larger, more complex projects may take 4-8 weeks. For best results, contact me for a consultation even if your project is ready to start immediately. We’ll map out a plan to help ensure that when you are ready, I’ll be available to help.

Can you send me a price sheet? Since all the work I do is custom, the cost will depend on the scope of the project, materials, and level of complexity and expertise required. After the consultation, I’ll create a quote specific to your project.
